Description
NOTE ***We hold some stock on the shelves and usually we have more on the go, please contact for stock level confirmation. You will also require a vehicle fixing kit to secure the tray to the vehicle, this can be a simple set of angle brackets so you can screw directly to the floor or one of our vehicle specific fixing kits. If you don’t see what your looking for or would like something made custom then please contact us for advise on what we can offer.***
Why have one tray when you can have three 😉 We’ve trebled up with this one, twin base tray for all your bits and second level for your bikes or more bits. The top tray is connected to the base tray with our quick release system, the base tray has 4 x tapered location mounts which then have spacer posts attached with screw threads, the tray then locates onto the posts via the Male/Female tapered joints, then tightened with 4 x finger knobs. We supply spacers with just the right amount of height to get euro boxes on the base tray and enough clearance on the second level for the largest of bikes. If you need more space below then additional spacers can be purchased and added to what you have.
We supply 8 x spacers at 115mm long, you only need 4 to raise the tray, this gives you two options, 115mm height between trays or 230mm (2 x spacers screwed together).
The size tray you require depends on a few variables, how your going to use it, what space in the vehicle you have and if carrying bikes how many, what frame sizes you have and most importantly will the bike fit in the back of your vehicle with the front wheel off and the rear on. The correct positioning of the bikes on the tray is also key to allow the handle bars clearance of any obstructions, but you already know that 😉
The sliding trays we produce are constructed from an anodised aluminium extrusion which have slots for drop in sliding T nuts (M4, M5, M6 and M8) so adding mounting points is simple. The drawer runners we use are a heavy duty lockable runner that can take weights of up to 230kg (depending on size). To extend the tray from its stored position all you need do is depress the two red locking levers and pull, when fully extended the tray will lock automatically, to release do the same in reverse.
The main base and facias of the tray are constructed using 12mm Birch Ply that has been resin coated with a printed hex pattern, this stuff is waterproof, super strong and virtually impossible to scratch so will last for years.
At the front, rear and both sides of the tray there is a aluminium profile rail to allow for connecting some of the accessories we make, after all what good is a tray if you can’t mount stuff to it. Add one of our Fork mounts suitable for extrusion fitting with the correct fork mount and axle inserts and you have everything you need to mount your first steed. There really easy to mount – The t-nuts (supplied with the Extrusion fitting Fork Mounts) just slip in from above so you don’t need to worry about taking the frame apart. Fork Mount/ Mounts just drop on, finger knobs located in the t-nuts and positioned/ re positioned before tightening.
If your mounting multiple bikes your probably going to need to add some offset mounting plates to the fork mounts, these give infinite positioning possibility’s which we guarantee are essential, after all there are so many different sizes of frame along with frame geometry. Its like a game of ‘Tetris’ once you’ve mastered it, its easy 😉
When you need the tray for something else undo the finger knobs and remove the Fork Mounts leaving the tray clear of any obstructions.
*Don’t worry if you have already purchased one of our surface mount Fork Mounts we’ve got you covered, just buy the separate fixing kit when adding the Tray to your basket 😉
We also supply seperately, adjustable eyelets and mounting hoops that can be attached to the trays front, back and side rails so you can add cargo nets, bungees and straps for securing loads.
If this size is not suitable then let us know what your preferred size is and we will send you a price 😉
